Matthieu Dauchez

Born on July 28, 1975, originally from Versailles, Father Matthieu Dauchez was ordained in 2004 for the Archdiocese of Manila in the Philippines. He was assigned by the Archbishop of Manila to the service of the ANAK-Tnk (Tulay ng Kabataan) foundation, which helps the most disadvantaged children and families in the Philippine capital city, with which he has worked since its creation in 1998. He took over the management of the organization in 2011.

In 2012, he received the "Raoul Follereau" prize awarded by the Académie Française.

The foundation was visited by Pope Francis during his visit to the Philippines in January 2015.

In 2011, he published his first essay, "Mendiants d’amour" (Begging for love), followed by "Prodigieux mystère de la joie" (The prodigious mystery of joy) in 2014. His third essay, "Plus fort que les ténèbres" (Stronger than darkness), published in 2015, received special mentions from the jury of the "Spiritualités d’aujourd’hui" prize. He then participated in writing the texts of a photo book, "Mysterious happiness" in 2017. He then published in September 2018 an essay on the difficult question of Evil, "Pourquoi Dieu permet-il cela?" (Why does God allows that?).

Finally, Father Matthieu Dauchez published in 2021 a catechetical novel intended for young people, inspired by the real situations he encountered in the streets of Manila : "Tanaël et le livre de vie" (Tanaël and the book of life).
