Pamela Browning

Pamela Browning's moment of truth as a writer occurred when she was standing ankle deep in the mud of a waste reclamation dump in a rainstorm with cold water sluicing down her neck.

"I was a journalist, and the dump was my assignment for the day. I thought, 'There must be a better way to make a living,' and so I went home and started to write fiction."

Short stories for adults and teenagers progressed to novels, and she found her niche writing romances.

"Not just romances, but stories that carried a message," she says. "I sold my first book to Silhouette and never looked back." She has written 50 books, and her fiction has been published in many languages and in many countries. Her awards include those from Romantic Times, the Georgia Romance Writers Maggie, and several from Media Women of South Carolina and the National Federation of Press Women.

Her latest venture is the release of four books in The Keeping Secrests Series. Each one revolves around secrets that the characters can't reveal without destroying the most important relationship in their lives.

"The Keeping Secrets plots were a challenge, each in a different way," she says. "I hope readers enjoy those books - EVER SINCE EVE, THROUGH EYES OF LOVE, SUNSHINE AND SHADOWS, and TOUCH THE STARS. And I encourage readers to post reviews on Amazon. I hope they'll be favorable, but if not, I'll learn from them. Growing as a writer is what it's all about."

Pamela is an accomplished public speaker, with 12 years of Toastmasters speaking experience and a second career as a cruise lecturer. She has taught writing at writers' conferences and workshops as well as in Florida Atlantic University's Lifelong Learning Program.

As an editor, she's edited several newsletters and magazines. Among them are The US-China Review and NINK, the newsletter of Novelists, Inc.
