Ed Boullianne’s life has been filled with adventure and excitement, the thrill of flying Navy jets and winning in combat. But, after his older sister’s sudden death, and a warning from his Navy Flight Surgeon that he too was at risk for heart disease, he embarked on an adventure that rivaled his 28-year Navy flying career.
On the morning of August the 4th, 2002, Ed received a call that changed his life. His brother, Bob, called to say that their sister Michelle had died suddenly of a heart attack. She was only 46 years old. Devastated by the tragedy of his sister’s death and the affect it had on her extended family, Ed was determined to discover the reasons so many Americans like his sister suffer from obesity and poor health.
He didn’t know it then, but his sister’s death would prove to be the catalyst for his own personal weight loss journey. Like so many of us in the United States, Ed struggled with weight loss initially. Yet, once he discovered how to achieve permanent weight loss without using deprivation or willpower, Ed realized the actual execution of the weight loss process was easy.
Ed has been conducting his wellness and weight loss seminar in the National Capital Region for five years now and it truly has become “The seminar that changes lives.” Ed’s book deconstructs many myths of the weight loss industry, and in a funny, motivating and entertaining way, shows why “You can’t outsource weight loss.”
Now at 5’ 11” and 170 pounds, Ed shed 34 pounds, equivalent to 17% of his former body weight, and has kept it off for more than 5 years. His “Self-Assessment Process” and the “Five Basic Truths” have helped thousands of people return balance to their life and achieve permanent weight loss. A young woman, Kate, said “the seminar changed my Life” after she correctly identified herself as a “why” eater and lost 42 pounds after attending one of Ed’s presentations in 2006.
Ed has appeared in and co-narrated, National Geographic’s “Carrier at War” and, while aboard the USS CARL VINSON, did voice work for “Behind Enemy Lines” released by 20th Century Fox. Ed’s book was released in January 2011 and is available in softcover and all e-book formats.
