George Kraus Ph.D.

George Kraus, Ph.D., ABPP is a clinical and consulting psychologist in private practice at Layh and Associates in Yellow Springs, Ohio, and has two specialties: (1) depth-oriented psychotherapy and (2) the care of older adults, especially those suffering from Alzheimer’s and other dementias. He is on the graduate faculty of the School of Professional Psychology at Wright State University, where in 2010 he was named SOPP's Professor of the Year.

His first book, At Wit’s End: Plain Talk on Alzheimer’s for Families and Clinicians (Purdue University Press; 2006), was chosen for the 17th Edition of outstanding University Press Books and appears on the list of suggested textbooks by the American Psychological Association - Division 20: Adult Development and Aging for use by educators offering programs and courses on the psychology of older adults. His work has also been published in a variety of professional journals, and he is currently on the editorial board of Aggression and Violent Behavior: A Review Journal. Dr. Kraus is Board Certified in Clinical Psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology and is a member of Psychologists in Long Term Care.
