Celia Ross (1971-) unintentionally stumbled into the world of business reference over a decade ago and has been trying to make sense of it ever since. She grew up in Stratham, NH where her first job was at the Wiggin Memorial Library. She has worked in business reference in a variety of settings, from a small venture capital firm to a global consulting firm and in public and academic libraries. Along the way, she learned many of the skills and techniques she describes in Making Sense of Business Reference (named a 2013 Outstanding Business Reference Source by the American Library Association's (ALA's) Business Reference Sources (BRASS) Committee). She teaches an online course through ALA's Reference and User Services Association (RUSA) on business librarianship called Business Reference 101. She is the 2014 recipient of the BRASS Excellence in Business Librarianship award. She has presented at conferences and written journal articles and book chapters on business reference. Currently, she is a Senior Associate Librarian at the University of Michigan's Ross (no relation) School of Business. In her spare time, Celia runs (very slowly) and maintains her Chia Pet collection (not simultaneously).
