Rob Ford is a digital pioneer, best-selling author, and the founder of the Favourite Website Awards (FWA). Established in May 2000, the FWA is the industry's premier recognition program for cutting-edge digital design, having served over 200 million visitors. Described by Digital Arts as "graphic design's principal archivist," Rob has spent over two and a half decades identifying, celebrating, and preserving the defining moments of internet history.
He is the author of six highly acclaimed books, including the definitive Web Design: The Evolution of the Digital World 1990–today (Taschen) and Members Only (Velocity Press). To date, his books have sold over 125,000 copies worldwide. His dedication to preservation is so culturally significant that a portion of his Members Only archive is now housed in the prestigious Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) in London.
After 26 years of chronicling the factual history of the web, Rob utilised his deep, first-hand knowledge of the digital underground to write his debut fiction novel, The Kesey Signal, a 1999 cyber-noir thriller built directly from the ruins and realities of the early internet.
Beyond his work in digital archiving and publishing, Rob is a dedicated champion of mental health awareness within the creative industry and the creator of The Little Trailblazers, a collaborative children's book with all profits benefiting UNICEF.
