Joël Dehasse

Joël Dehasse is a naturalist in the original sense of the word — an observer of the living who refuses disciplinary borders. His path is that of a man who started from the behavior of dogs and cats and arrived at human psychology, by way of genetics, epigenetics, functional neurology, comparative biology, family systems theory, and neuroscience applied to integrative functional medicine. He is himself a clinical case he readily cites — with the self-deprecating humor of a researcher who has made his own terrain the most honest laboratory he knows.

For over 45 years, through his books, publications, training courses, videos, media appearances, the founding of international organizations, and the co-creation of the European College of Veterinary Behavioural Medicine, he has been one of the shapers of the behavioral movement, of the advancement of respectful training methods, and of the profession of ethical behavior coach…

Joël Dehasse holds a doctorate in veterinary medicine and is a board-certified specialist. He has transformed animal psychiatry into functional neurology, into integrative-holistic functional medicine.

Author of some twenty books — several of them international bestsellers — he has built a body of work that crosses species without ever confusing them.
