Sari Gilbert

Sari Gilbert is one of those Americans who fell in love with Italy at a tender age and had so much passion, and enough drive, to make sure she got there fairly early in life - first as an undergraduate, then as a grad student, and finally as a working adult. Although she started grown-up life by getting a doctorate in international relations, she ended up working as a writer and a reporter, first for U.S. and Canadian publications and later for a major Italian daily. Over the years, except for fashion shows and soccer games, she covered just about every kind of news story there was to cover in Italy: elections, government crises, Mafia trials, terrorism, papal assassination attempts, immigrant smuggling, political corruption, earthquakes, food, tourism, business and banking, with the result that she knows a great deal about this delightful, frustrating and terribly complicated country. Oh, and that includes men as well. As an attractive, unmarried woman with an important job, she had – shall we say – diverse opportunities to love and be loved. Her new, first-person e-book, My Home Sweet Rome: Living (and loving) in the Eternal City, provides a comprehensive – and entertaining – look at the ins and outs of life in Italy.
