Phil Casoar

Phil Casoar is a journalist and cartoonist. He has contributed to publications such as *Actuel* and *Libération*. He is the author of the graphic novel "Les Aventures épatantes et véridiques de Benoît Broutchoux" (with Stéphane Callens), and of the documentary "Ortiz, Général sans Dieu ni Maître" (directed in collaboration with Ariel Camacho and Laurent Guyot). In 1994, Phil Casoar wrote the preface and edited Arthur Koestler’s autobiographical works in the “Bouquins” collection published by Robert Laffont. In 2006, he published “Les Héros de Budapest” with Eszter Balazs. In 2016, a Hungarian translation was released under the title “Budapest hősei.” In 2010, with Ariel Camacho, Phil Casoar published “Le Petit Phalangiste” in the journal XXI, an investigation that led them to discover the identity of a teenager executed during the Spanish Civil War, mentioned by Simone Weil in her letter to Georges Bernanos. In 2022, after 15 years of research, Phil Casoar published “L'Arsène Lupin des galetas, la vie fantasque de Raoul Saccorotti, cambrioleur en gants blancs”... 2026, publication with Marc Caro of “Route 77”.
