Laurent Lopez

Laurent Lopez holds a PhD in Contemporary History from the University of Paris-Sorbonne and is a specialist in the history of French law enforcement in the 19th and 20th centuries, with a particular focus on all aspects of professional (judicial and criminal) and social relations, including with police and gendarmes in neighboring European countries. His research also focuses on crime and justice. He is a researcher at Cesdip (CNRS/UMR 8183) and has taught at the Universities of Paris-Créteil and Versailles - Saint-Quentin. He is now a lecturer at the University of Paris Panthéon-Assas and at the Gendarmerie's preparatory class for the EOGN/ENSP/ENM competitive exams, as well as at the University of Clermont Auvergne. He is currently employed by the Service historique de la Défense as a researcher and teacher.
