Tom Ekman

Tom Ekman, J.D., M.Ed., is a science teacher and writer, and former Director of Content Development at National Geographic Maps.

"I teach Science at a social mission school in Mexico. I am particularly excited about the intersection of technology and education.

"In Babies of Technology (Yale: 2017), we surveyed the landscape of the fertility industry and found a range of crucial areas of legal uncertainty for children in the new era of assisted reproductive technology. I am sure that this will become a whole new area of law -- not to mention a major part of our culture, and future.

"What I enjoyed most was the human stories, like the woman who gave birth to her own sister. We are on the cusp of a new type of human being...if not a whole species."
