Laurette Succar
Laurette Succar is a writer, painter, scenographer and visual artist, living and working in Paris (France).
Born in Beirut (Lebanon), she is graduated in Philosophy and Aesthetics from the Sorbonne University Paris and in Education Sciences from the Institute of Pedagogy of Paris.
She is the author of numerous collections of poetry, artist's books and object books.
Poetry and painting become entangled in singular works where the words are sculpted and the features are chanted. In the light of the throbbing theme of memory, her work continues to question the flaw, forgetting and the conditions of a possible transmission.
Her paintings, drawings and installations are regularly exhibited in France, Germany, England, Italy, Belgium, Europe, Africa and Middle East. They are found in public and private collections throughout the world. Her artist's books are part of prestigious Collections including La Bibliothèque Nationale de France, Paris.
Member of Maison des Artistes, Maison des Ecrivains and ADAGP - France, Laurette Succar is editor of her own artist's books collections.
She was awarded the Josette Moreau Després Painting Prize in 2015 by the Société Nationale d'Horticulture de France - SNHF Paris.
