Ben Hoare

Ben Hoare is an award-winning writer of natural-history books for children. Several are international bestsellers, translated into over 20 languages.

The Guardian newspaper said: "His writing is funny, informative and zinging with infectious enthusiasm.”

Ben won the Children's Wainwright Prize for Non-fiction with his book The Secrets of Bees.

His book the Secret World of Plants was shortlisted in The Week Junior Children's Book of the Year Awards.

The British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) awarded him the Dilys Breese Medal for science communication.

He was Features Editor of BBC Wildlife Magazine from 2008 to 2018 and was its Editorial Consultant until 2021.
