Andrzej (Andy) Barski was born in Nottingham to Polish parents who escaped the horrors of World War II in the early 1940s. He studied English and History at Brighton Polytechnic and later qualified as an English language teacher. He left the UK in the mid-1980s and travelled extensively, teaching English in Kuwait, Thailand, Hong Kong and Indonesia where he has been living for the last thirty years.
It is no coincidence he lives in Bali, as he feels drawn by its spiritual energy. It was here as a teacher where he developed unique training programmes for upmarket hotels and spas based around the concept of Creating Truly Memorable Experiences, which focus on the energies of love, care, empathy, spirituality and creativity. And when combined they create magical customer experiences.
Barski is passionate about his writing. He hopes it will help people remember that we are all connected and consciously evolving, to understand that love is really the only power uniting everything, but do it in a gritty, realistic way. Powers That Be is his first work of fiction and it attempts to combine spiritual messages with the odd conspiracy and a touch of the dark side of the human condition. He believes out of the dark must come the light and you need them both to be balanced, but consciously holding this belief without being distracted is often much easier said than done. In this respect, Powers That Be is an insight into his own struggles and conflicts, which are sometimes uncomfortably close to the bone.
