James Buffington

I started collecting humor in high school. Jokes were my way to social acceptance. As i aged I continued collecting joke and humor books.

Graduated high school, went to college, got a piece of toilet paper called a liberal arts degree, yadda, yadda, yadda.

As it happened i learned to play bridge in college and spent the 20 years or so after graduating as a bridge bum. Work was something to get money to travel to tournaments and such.

So i never became president of Ford Motors.

The life grew thin eventually and I married my wife, Gail, at 43. At 44 our son Alexander was born. He proved to be autistic, as were my wife's 2 daughters by a previous marriage. My wife wanted one more and we ended up compromising and adopting our last chids, Edwin, from Guatemala.

So, not having devoted myself to the obtaining of filthy lucre, i now found myself facing a rapidly approaching retirement with a college education to worry about and autistic kids that would need cared for when we're gone.

Gulp!

So I started to do things to bring in extra money. Amongst them was publishing my own joke books. One book, my "Blond, Brunette and Redhead" joke book, was picked up by the good folks at Ulysses Press.

That's my story in a nutshell. Allow me to take the time here to thank each of you personally for your support.
