H.R. Donovan

H.R. Donovan is the published author of two historical romances and one historical novel. "I have been spinning tales for as long as I can remember," says Donovan of her life-long passion. "I like stories with lots of action. My heroes and heroines, while not perfect, have to be people of strong character, determined enough to prevail against overwhelming odds. I like to choose beautiful settings as well as periods in our country's history that have helped shape who we are today. And, of course, there has to be romance. In that sense, I'm probably a little old-fashioned. I want my characters to fall in love and to reach that moment of realization that they can't live or don't want to live without each other, before I let them become physical."

Donovan lives with her husband in historic New England. After raising four children, she now enjoys the quieter pace of gardening, hiking, and more time to write. Her greatest joy is her nine grandchildren.
