Luke Wright

For over 25 years, Luke Wright has torn up stages worldwide with his blistering mix of poetry, comedy, and storytelling. A master wordsmith and electrifying performer, he digs into family, politics, and modern masculinity with equal parts bite and beauty, pulling at the seams of everyday life to reveal its chaos and comedy.

Wright’s performances are a rollercoaster—lyrical, heartfelt, and unflinchingly funny. He’s toured the world, supported John Cooper Clarke, and MC’d for The Libertines. A regular voice on BBC Radio 4, his writing and performance have earned him a Fringe First, a Stage Award, and the 2021 Saboteur Spoken Word Artist of the Year.

The author of four collections and six pamphlets (including the award-winning After Engine Trouble). Wright's latest collection is Later Life Letter (Fleet, 2026) a memoir in poetry detailing his adoption. Wright also writes plays published as epic poems by Penned in the Margins. In 2020, Nymphs & Thugs marked his two decades of gigging with TWENTY, a double album on vinyl and digital.

Beyond the stage, Luke is a proud patron of Bungay Library, INK Festival, and The Fisher Theatre.
