Stephen Stroud born 1948 in a once small town named Denver, Colorado. For the most part, educated at parochial schools until college. Attended Western State College, located in the chilly city of Gunnison, Colorado, graduated with a major in history and a minor in English and then reality set-in. Banking being the predominate occupation for the last 30 years, but the passions of life are the family and writing. "The Way You Wear New on Your Face" was a volume of poetry published in 1995 and the first venture into the publishing world and once again reality set-in. It was the 1960's, those years of social upheaval, war, and civil rights that dramatically influenced the perspective and character of this writer. After years of research and study, it became apparent that although Charles Darwin's Theory of Evolution answered questions about the physical traits of organisms, the great void is human nature itself. It does not evolve but rather is stagnate. The Beatles got it right: "All You Need is Love". Similarly, any religion or entity that professes to advocate the evolution of human nature to a higher plane of love and compassion and acts accordingly is what this world needs. It is from this train of thought that the novel "The Absence of Color" was created. Stephen Stroud has started his second novel with the reality that it is harder to sell a book than write one, but writing fiction is such fun!
Stephen Stroud is married to Mary Schonebaum and they have two children: Patricia and Michael. He lives with his wife in Centennial, Colorado.
