Elizabeth Libby Hurley

Elizabeth (Libby) Hurley is Founder and President of Together We Tri (TWT) a Chicago-area triathlon training program. A three time Ironman finisher and veteran of more than 50 races, Libby began her triathlon journey as a spectator at the Escape to Alcatraz race in San Francisco.

Fueled by her background as a competitive age group swimmer with Olympic aspirations, Libby longed to compete in triathlons. A lack of information on the emerging sport led Libby to devise a training program for herself, which she would use to inspire her entrepreneurial quest.

The idea for a triathlon training company was swimming around in Libby’s head before she even crossed her first finish line. Together We Tri was off and running in the year 2000 and since then has motivated more than 6,000 athletes to realize their triathlon goals.

Prior to founding Together We Tri, Libby worked as a Physicians Assistant specializing in Neurosurgery and Neuroresearch for more than 11 years. She is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and currently resides in Glenview, Illinois with her husband and three children.

Tri the Journey is the culmination of Libby’s enduring desire to bring the ‘Triathlon High’ beyond the athletes she trains. The book and Web site are the realization of Libby’s dream to encourage thousands more to experience a fitness program that transforms lives.
