Christopher Setterlund

I have been painting worlds with words since 1996. I started writing song lyrics and poetry although my musical skill is quite limited. My first short story, Eight Hours, was originally a screenplay submitted for a contest. Afterwards I rewrote it to make it better suited as a book.

I have been told by some to find a genre and stick to it but I enjoy writing all types of books as is obvious by my titles and subjects I have put out thus far. I have three children's books, a pair of poetry books, and a photography book which incorporates my poetry as well.

I truly enjoy travel writing and this has resulted in my first hardcover book detailing all of Cape Cod being released in October 2013 through Schiffer Publishing. In My Footsteps: A Cape Cod Travel Guide has been positively reviewed in the Cape Cod Times and Boston Globe. In 2016 my second and third In My Footsteps books were released featuring Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. In June 2017 my fourth book was released through History Press at Arcadia Publishing entitled Historic Restaurants of Cape Cod.

My fifth book entitled Cape Cod Nights was released through History Press in June 2019 and features legends of the Cape Cod nightlife over the decades. My book was featured on the July 30, 2019 episode of WCVB Channel-5 Boston's iconic television show Chronicle.

It has been followed up by Iconic Hotel and Motels of Cape Cod, my sixth book, also through History Press, which was released in May 2021. I also currently host the In My Footsteps Podcast featuring New England travel and history, lifestyle, and 80's and 90's nostalgia. It can be found on all streaming platforms.

These books have opened the door to allow me to write for other outlets such as Cape Cod.com, Cape Cod Life Magazine, Cape Cod Magazine, Frommer's, and Travel Channel. I have also been interviewed by such publications as Boston Globe, Money Magazine, Hartford Courant, and Cape Cod Times.

My travel blog started in 2010 has concentrated on my home region of New England thus far and is also entitled In My Footsteps which has been featured on such sites as Cape Cod Today, Plymouth Daily News, and All Things New England. I am trying my best to balance my books and travel writing since I truly love doing both. It is said that if you do what you love you never work a day in your life, and that is how I feel when I am writing books or traveling around New England.

Besides writing I love photography and running. I have completed more than forty races including my first marathon in October 2012. I started running in 2011 at age 33 and am living proof that anything is possible. Thank you all for taking the time to learn a little about me. Contact me via Twitter anytime.
