Randy D. Smith

Randy D. Smith is a professional grant, outdoor, and historical writer. He is the Director of State & Federal Programs for Dodge City, Kansas, school system. He has over 500 articles published on hunting, conservation, reenactment, Old West history, outdoor activities and educational issues. For several years he was a columnist for Old West magazine, “Old West Gunsmith,” which dealt with historical firearms of the 19th century. He was a field editor for Blackpowder Hunting magazine for seventeen years. He was the host and producer of the Kansas Association of Broadcasters award winning High Plains Outdoors for Smoky Hills Public Television. Smith has 14 books currently in publication – 12 on the Kindle electronic format. His book, Red River Ring, was a 2002 Epie finalist for best western novel. He functions as a consultant, coordinator, and judge for Reenactment Guild of America historical pageants.
