Gail Engebretson

Gail Engebretson is a native of Wisconsin and the granddaughter of Polish Immigrants. She graduated with a BA from the University of Wisconsin. She has been teaching violin and music for over 40 years. Her first novel, Polish Princess, drew on her Polish Heritage and her love of music and teaching.

Gail’s journey with her non-fiction book Fat No More, Long Term Success Following Weight-Loss Surgery began with her personal decision to undergo Bariatric Surgery in 2004. After the surgery she discovered there was very little written about how to navigate the ups and downs of the aftermath of Bariatric surgery. She then made the decision to turn articles she'd been writing for magazines into a book to help others wanting a life long change.

While working on her own writing and teaching violin, Gail taught Creative Writing Classes through the Madison Area Technical college in Madison, Wisconsin.

Gail currently resides in the Seattle area with her partner Scott Sprague, Gus the dog and Jack the cat.
