I wanted to be a writer from an early age. My vision for my future was a cottage in the woods somewhere in England, with a stream or river nearby, two German Shepherds, (one long haired), a couple of cats and a booklined study with an open fireplace.

When I was six I wrote my first 'book', a present for my Mother. From this point on I was always reading and writing. I wrote poetry (and doggerel), short stories and told my younger brothers and sisters stories made up as they went along. Doing the washing up turned into an adventure, with the carving knife as King, and his people the plates and cutlery.

When I was 21 I fell in love and lost sight of the dream, but she never stopped writing.

Currently I am revising a book written under M. J. Saklatvala, The Last Bastion: Harriet Greene and the Crazy Bay Venture. It is set in Tasmania and Greece, and at its heart is a political theme, TasExit! I KDP’ed it on Amazon last year, and have just read the printed version. I like to leave it for a while before reading so I come to it fresh. Despite having poof-read it on my Kindle, (converted from Word using Calibre) correcting the document on the laptop open beside me as I went, I still found many errors. So I am having another go at getting it right.
