Dr. Kurt Braddock (Ph.D., Penn State) is an Assistant Teaching Professor of Communication Arts and Sciences and Homeland Security at Penn State University. Having investigated terrorist de-radicalization, disengagement, and adaptation to counter-terrorism efforts, Dr. Braddock's research is primarily focused on the role of persuasive communication in the psychological development of the terrorist. His work related to the role of online extremist narrative in promoting radicalization has been funded by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. He has also consulted several governments on strategic communication issues, including countering the persuasiveness of propaganda spread by ISIS.
