When I was seven I created my first 'newspaper' so that my father who was working abroad could keep up with events in our family. I've never stopped writing since.

As a child I moved from Indonesia to Holland, to Canada, and back to Holland. As a working adult I practiced general medicine in Holland, Indonesia, and the United Arab Emirates. I had countless adventures which I shared with friends and family in regular letters that were carefully kept and form the basis for my books. While I was working I wrote about the plants and animals around me and published a number of wildlife guides to the deserts of the UAE, as well as some children's stories on the same subjects. Now that I am retired I have time to finally get some proper manuscripts together and the first two were published in 2010.
