ADHD, Asperger's, Autism?
Check out the Timms Social Skills Program (created by Lisa Timms author of "60 Social Situations and Discussion Starters")
The #1 question I receive is "How do you teach social skills online?" Let me explain how my program works...
Speech therapists address the pragmatics of social skills such as body language and eye contact. My program addresses the educational core of social skills such as attentive listening, problem solving, self esteem, friendships, dealing with feelings, self control, conflict, family, community and more. By explaining the skill in a fun, interactive way the student is able to retain the information.
Also, my social skills students don't get homework but their parents do. The parent homework is an explanation given to the parent on how to generalize the skill the student just attained into their "real world". I give helpful hints and activities for the parent/caregiver to do with the child to reinforce the skill they just learned. My students love it so much they always make me wait until they get their parents to see the slide before I end the class. Don't worry parents/caregivers...I also email out a summary of the class along with the information given on the parent homework slide.
The students attend 1 class per week for approximately 1 hour.
Class size is limited to 6 students to ensure positive interaction.
The Timms Social Skills Program is a revolutionary interactive new online social skills program designed to help individuals with ADHD, ADD, individuals on the autism spectrum, or anyone who suffers from social deficits. The program is offered internationally.

Lisa Timms holds a Master of Science Degree in Special Education from the University of Scranton. She decided to become a special education teacher due to her son being diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), an auditory processing disorder, and an anxiety disorder. She encountered many teachers along her path with her son, some were good, others were not. She endeavored to help her students and their families as much as she could and also became a parent advocate. She is a certified special education teacher and also the author of "60 Social Situations and Discussion Starters" published by Jessica Kingsley Publishers. The book was acutally born from a curriculum Ms. Timms developed when she was an instructor. She was concerned about the influx of students on the autism spectrum and students which had an ADHD/ADD diagnosis signing up for online schooling, that would no longer have interaction with their peers. She developed the curriculum and implemented it in an online setting. The success of the program was immediate and continues to grow. Ms Timms is now dedicated to offering the Timms Social Skills Program
internationally from her home in the Tampa Bay Area.
