My origins are French, Polish and Irish. I was born in Morocco and also lived in France, Gabon, Afghanistan and Cameroun. I married a Californian. We've lived in Texas for the past thirty years. I was a teenager in 1967 when my father's work took our family to Kabul, Afghanistan. It was a beautiful and peaceful kingdom at the time. With my father's permission, I joined two geologist friends in traveling to nomad camps high in the Hindu Kush where we spent 10 fascinating days. Writing ALEXANDER'S RIDDLE - AN AFGHAN MYSTERY in 2000 brought back many happy memories of the wonderful Afghan people and their magnificent land. Sadly,it's a very different place in 2011 but like the main character of my book I believe that one day peace will return to Afghanistan.
