Evanne Beth Jordan

Evanne Beth Jordan was encouraged to write imaginative stories by her third grade teacher and has been writing ever since. She graduated from SUNY Binghamton with a BA in Literature and Creative Writing ('76) and then continued her education by obtaining a Multiple Teaching Credential/Emphasis Early Childhood Education ('78).

Evanne has been an Early Educator/Trainer for over 30 years. In that time she has written several children's books, educational trainings, and poetry. Evanne has published articles in newspapers and magazines regarding issues ranging from adoption, and military family life to spiritual awareness.

Evanne's first book, Firefly Night, was the result of a wonderful evening spent watching two young friends catch fireflies on a warm summer night in Great Lakes, Illinois.

Evanne's second book, Rainbow Bikes , was inspired by the children at the preschool Evanne has been teaching at for the last 15 years.

Evanne is a lifelong teacher, and as such, is committed to helping schools and libraries. She is available for fundraising events for schools, libraries and non-profits and will donate half of the proceeds from book sales to the sponsored school or organization.

The illustrator, Mary Ruth Butterworth, hand painted the engaging images in "Firefly Night" and in "Rainbow Bikes". Mary Ruth is a freelance artist living in Seattle.

She uses a variety of media to create her illustrations, including watercolor, acrylics, and construction paper. Mary sells her works as ruthieandfriends on-line at the website: www.ruthieandfriends.etsy.com
