A. R. Hilton

**A.R. Hilton is an author, screenwriter, filmmaker, and creative entrepreneur whose work explores ambition, loyalty, survival, transformation, and the consequences of the choices we make.**

Born and raised in Mount Vernon, New York—a city of quiet, tree-lined neighborhoods existing alongside a raw urban landscape—Hilton was shaped by the contrasts, personalities, and experiences that surrounded him. He first discovered writing as a teenager while reporting and producing newsletters through a summer youth program at the Mount Vernon Urban League.

Hilton’s life later took him through more than eighteen years in state and federal prisons. During his incarceration, he rediscovered his ability to write and began developing concepts for novels and screenplays. What started as an outlet for observation and reflection eventually became a body of work grounded in firsthand experience, imagination, and an unfiltered understanding of the environments he portrays.

His debut novel, *THAT LIFE (Prophecy of a Hustler)*, follows childhood friends Kamari and Mink—two young men with opposing personalities who choose the same dangerous path. Their pursuit of money, power, and survival tests their friendship and forces them to confront the true cost of the life they have chosen.

Hilton continued the story with *Prophecy of a Hustler II: A War of Souls*, which follows Kamari deeper into a world of federal investigations, betrayal, damaged relationships, uncertain loyalties, and enemies determined to bring about his downfall.

Expanding beyond literature, Hilton wrote and directed the short film *The Death of a Prince*, a deeply personal project dedicated to the memory of his younger brother, who was murdered at eighteen years old. The film screened at the Hollywood Black Film Festival and the Big Apple Film Festival in New York.

Hilton later wrote and directed the feature film *Anonymous Killers*, released in 2020. The psychological crime thriller marked the completion of a nine-year journey from screenplay to production and distribution.

Across literature and film, A.R. Hilton creates stories about people shaped by difficult environments but never entirely confined by them. His work looks beyond the attraction of street life to examine its emotional, spiritual, and human cost. His own journey—from incarceration to published author and filmmaker—stands as proof that a person’s past may shape the story, but it does not have to determine how that story ends.
