Kevin Winchester

Winchester's debut novel, Sunflower Dog will be published by SFK Press in april 2020. He holds an M.F.A. from Queens University of Charlotte in 2005. His short story collection, “Everybody’s Gotta Eat,” was published by Main Street Rag in 2009. Ron Rash said of "Everybody's Gotta Eat,"Winchester’s voice is all his own—unique, funny, heartfelt, an honest depiction of the world as he sees it. His voice is one to join that long tradition of Southern writers, and rightly so. Winchester was awarded the 2013 Thomas Wolfe Fiction Award and he attended the Bread Loaf Writer’s Conference in 2005 on a “wait-staff” scholarship. He currently live in Waxhaw, NC , just outside of Charlotte and teaches Creative Writing and Composition classes at a small, liberal arts University.
