Pat Valdata
I am a poet and fiction writer. My poetry book about women aviation pioneers, Where No Man Can Touch, won the Donald Justice Poetry Prize in 2015 and was published that year. A revised edition was published 2023 by Wind Canyon Books. My other poetry publications are Inherent Vice and the chapbook Looking for Bivalve, both published by Pecan Grove Press. My work has appeared in numerous anthologies, including Nasty Women Poets: An Unapologetic Anthology of Subversive Verse (Lost Horse Press 2017), The Cento (Red Hen Press 2011), and Letters to the World (Red Hen Press 2008). My poetry has also appeared in literary magazines including Ecotone, Ekphrastic Review, Italian Americana, Little Patuxent Review, North American Review, Passager, The Raintown Review, String Poet, and Valparaiso Poetry Review.
My most recent novel, Eve’s Daughters (Moonshine Cove Press 2020), won first prize in the novel category from the Delaware Press Association and received an Honorable Mention from the National Federation of Press Women. My other novels are The Other Sister (Plainview Press 2008), which won a gold medal from the Hungarian Association’s Árpád Academy, and Crosswind (Wind Canyon Books 1997).
