Marc Oliver Opresnik is Distinguished Professor of Marketing and Management at the Technical University of Lübeck and a member of the Board of Directors at the SGMI Management Institute St. Gallen, one of the world’s leading international business schools. In addition, he serves as a visiting professor at leading international institutions such as the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford, London Business School, and the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
Dr. Opresnik is the author of more than 50 books and articles, including the international standard work Marketing: Principles and Practice – A Management-Oriented Approach. Together with Kevin Keller and Philip Kotler, the world’s best-known marketing professor, he co-authored the German edition of Marketing Management, the “Bible of Marketing”. Alongside Gary Armstrong and Philip Kotler, he is also co-author of the global edition of Marketing: An Introduction, the world’s most successful marketing textbook.
Since 2019, Dr. Opresnik has served as a member of the Advisory Board of the Innovation Accelerator of the United Nations World Food Programme. In May 2025, he was recognized as a Global Thought Leader and accepted into the Academic Speakers Bureau at the London School of Economics (LSE). In August 2025, he was awarded an Honorary Professorship in Strategic Marketing and Leadership at the New Delhi Institute of Management (NDIM) in India.
