Bruce L. Katcher

Bruce L. Katcher, Ph.D. is an Industrial/Organizational psychologist, consultant, author, and speaker. His firm, Discovery Surveys, Inc., conducts customized surveys of employees and customers. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Maryland in 1983.

Dr. Katcher has with more than 25 years experience conducting surveys for organizations and advising senior managers how to use the results. He has consulted to more than 100 clients including Alcoa, Dunkin' Donuts, Fidelity Investments, Johnson & Johnson, the Mayo Clinic, Revlon, Science Magazine, Sodexo, the Tata Group, Timberland, Tufts University, and W.R. His book, "30 Reasons Employees Hate Their Managers," was published in 2007 by AMACOM, the publishing arm of the American Management Association. It provides practical advice to managers based on his surveys of more than 50,000 employees. It was named one of the best business books of the year by Strategy+Business Magazine, a publication of Booz Allen Hamilton, and Library Journal. It was also named as a finalist for the 2007 Book of the Year Award by ForeWord Magazine.

An Insider's Guide to Building a Successful Consulting Practice

Dr. Katcher also authored "An Insider's Guide to Building a Successful Consulting Practice" (AMACOM, 2010). The book provides practical advice to beginning and experienced independent consultants.
