J.A. Gordon

Judith Gordon never thought of herself as being a creative person - as a barrister working in big companies travelling the world, she felt that creativity was for wimps. Twenty five years on and five books later, she now thinks differently: 'I didn't know how fulfilling writing would be', she says, 'Nor how difficult. I mean, it can be really heartbreaking to have to find the words for some of the scenes in my books but, because I'm writing about soldiers in a savagely cruel world, I must be true to my characters and have to steel myself to put the words on the screen. There are consolations though, because I also get to write funny scenes and, sometimes, I have the satisfaction of giving a nasty character a suitably horrible end'.

In addition to the Chronicles series, Judith has written a modern women's fiction novel, The Day My Life Changed, under the pen name Annie Francis-Clark. It is available on Amazon in both hard copy and e-book formats.

Judith likes to relax by cooking for her family and friends and loves going to the cinema with her husband, Ray, and taking their whippets Hugo and Skye for walks in the park in Shrewsbury where they live. She is also a great film fan, preferring anything which doesn't have CGI filling the screen.
