Daniel Vaughan

Daniel Vaughan writes about how software gets built when engineers and coding agents work together.

He leads a global forward deployed engineering practice, embedding with large enterprises to take agentic AI from prototype into production, and has spent twenty-five years building software across enterprise, startup and scientific research settings. He works hands-on across the Anthropic, OpenAI and Google stacks. His interest is the unglamorous half of the problem: evaluation, reliability, failure modes, and what it takes before anyone will trust what an agent produces.

He is the author of Agentic Coding with OpenAI Codex CLI (Packt, 2026), Cloud Native Development with Google Cloud (O'Reilly, 2023) and Ext GWT 2.0: Beginner's Guide (Packt, 2010). A Google Developer Expert for Cloud and a Green Software Champion, he co-organises Software Crafters Cambridge, a developer community now in its second decade.

He lives in Saffron Walden, near Cambridge.
