Nancy is the author of When Bryn's Ear Went Quiet, the story of a girl having cochlear implant surgery after losing her hearing in one ear. Nancy is herself a cochlear implant wearer. This is her thirteenth picture book, with three novels to her credit as well. Her work has been nominated for the Chocolate Lily, Ruth Schwartz and CLA Book of the Year awards, and her first picture book, I Heard My Mother Call My Name, was awarded the Sheila A. Egoff Children's Literature Prize. She lives in Vancouver, Canada and luckily, loves the rain.
