I grew up before and during WWII and at 17, in 1950, I enlisted in the U.S. Navy to ‘see the world’. I stayed in for 5 years spending much of it in Europe. I went back to Italy after that for almost 2 years working and traveling and eventually returned to the states and began all the ‘adventures’ that made up my life.
Except for about 6 demon-filled years of my own making, the biggest portion of it was in Colorado where I met and married Gloria. I spent most of that time learning and working in steel fabrication shops for around 35 years. In 1976 we moved to Montana for 6 years and raised goats, turkeys and chickens. We returned to Colorado in 1982. After a rather serious battle of cancer in 1992, which I won, we settled down to a somewhat comfortable life together enjoying art and life together.
Through those years and since I have always been into oil painting and steel sculpture and lately into writing. But I have to say that I feel all of my endeavors in work I’ve done through the years still comes under creative arts. If you truly enjoy what ever ‘work’ you are doing then I believe it comes under creative activity which is art, in my opinion.
