Jim has always been interested in writing but "Oh Really, Riley?" is his first attempt at a book. Several magazines have been kind enough to publish articles he's sent them over the years.
When not writing, he runs Riley's Trick Shop in Worth, Illinois, the subject of the book. How does someone get into the trick business? In his case Jim was born into it. The book tells the story of growing up in a family business whose main source of income is through the sales of fake vomit, rubber mice, whoopie cushions, and joy buzzers.
He's also a ham radio operator, bicyclist, and geocacher.
Jim lives with his wife, Judy, in the south suburbs of Chicago. They have four grown children and nine grand children.
