Ervin Sims
Ervin Sims is a native of the North Carolina Piedmont and lives in Belmont North Carolina. While serving in the US Army he met his bride of forty years in Germany. They have one daughter. He has a Masters Degree from the University of North Carolina Charlotte and currently teaches history at Gaston College and Lee University. Ervin is an active member of the North Belmont Church of God. He enjoys reading books on history, science fiction, and theology.
Ervin has a particular fascination with eschatology or Bible prophecy, and sees a similarity with science fiction in as much as both seek visions of the future. He found C. S. Lewis’ Narnia and Space Trilogy books particularly interesting in this fashion. Equally interesting were the creation stories that J. R. R. Tolkien presented in his book “The Simirillian”.
In his book Ervin is attempting to provide a look into the world as it may exist during the millennial reign of Christ. In this world humans are just as flawed as they are in our age. The leadership may be ‘perfect’, but that is not true of those being lead. Death though delayed is still present, and the wants and needs of everyday people still persist. What would a world like that look like?
