Scott Ballantyne holds a doctorate in education from Widener University and a master in public administration degree from Kutztown University. His undergraduate degree is in accounting and was earned at Alvernia University where he is currently employed as an Associate Professor in the business department. In addition, Ballantyne is a graduate of the “Education and Policy Fellowship” program supported by the Institute for Educational Leadership.
Ballantyne is an award winning teacher at the collegiate level concentrating on leadership, finance and school business courses. He was the recipient of the “Christian R. & Mary F. Lindback Foundation Award for Excellence in Teaching.” In addition, Ballantyne was recognized by the Accreditation Council of Business Schools and Programs which awarded him the “Teaching Excellence Award” for Region 2 which includes: Pennsylvania, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia.
Ballantyne has gained practical experience as a Pennsylvania Registered School Business Administrator working in Pennsylvania school districts. In addition, he holds licenses for fixed and variable insurance and annuities and is a licensed registered representative in the financial equities industry. He has started and operated several businesses including a retail business, a financial services business, a consulting business and a charter boat business.
