Sorin Adam Matei

Sorin Adam Matei is the College of Liberal Arts Associate Dean of Research and a Professor of Communication at Brian Lamb School of Communication, Purdue University.

He was educated at Bucharest University (BA in History and Philosophy), Tufts University (Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, MA in International Relations), and University of Southern California (Annenberg School for Communication, PhD in Communication).

His work was funded by the EU Horizon 2020 Program, National Science Foundation, Mellon Foundation, and Kettering Foundation. He is a Fulbright Specialist and the creator of the Kredible.net, Ideagora.us and Ubimark.com initiatives.

Dr. Matei is a former BBC World Service journalist and is still actively involved with journalistic projects. He published 5 major academic books and tens of academic journal articles in Journal of Communication, American Behavioral Scientist, Communication Research and Information society (http://matei.org/papers). His columns, photographs, and essays have been published in Foreign Policy, Esquire Magazine, and the top national Romanian language newspapers. He is also the creator of the publishing platforms Visbile Past (http://visiblepast.net), Visible Effort (http://veffort.us) and Ubimark (http://ubimark.com) and of the site Mental Maps (http://mentalmaps.info). He is also the author of the Romanian language book "The Mind Boyars" (http://matei.org/boyars), the co-editor of "Idols of the Forum" (http://idolii.com), and the publisher of Pagini.com (pagini.com).
