Mel Merel currently lives in Germany.

He works in the field of Computer Science (IT) as a Network Administrator in Germany. Also Certified as MCP and MCSA, and certified as IT-Project Coordinator

He designed every single detail of the books. This means layout, cover and graphics. Moreover, he developed and designed his own chess fonts (TTF) for these books.

In his first 3 chess books, he wrote the preface of the books in 3 languages (English, Spanish and German).
