Brenda Grate

Brenda Grate writes stories about women finding their authentic voices and the courage to rewrite their lives. Born in Santa Rosa, California, she spent most of her adult life in Western Canada before following her own advice about taking brave leaps and relocating to Greece with her husband.

As a certified herbalist, artist, and lifelong learner, Brenda draws on her diverse experiences to create characters who feel like real people facing real challenges. Her travels through Europe, her studies in natural healing, and her work supporting other writers through the Interior Author's Group have all woven their way into her storytelling.

When she's not writing, you'll find Brenda foraging for wild herbs, painting Mediterranean landscapes, or being thoroughly managed by her twin cats, Molly and Diego, who believe the best writing happens with feline supervision.

Brenda speaks Italian and Sign Language and is slowly (sigà, sigà) learning Greek. She believes the best stories come from engaging fully with life and always being open to adventure.
