Steve and Pam realized that the "cookie cutter" mode of treatment was not effective and needed to change. Instead of simply adding on to what was already being done, they deconstructed treatment and started looking at it much differently.
After extensive research, they saw that it was not merely genetics, frequency, intensity, duration, consequences/shame, trauma/co-existing disorders or physical problems. It was actually all or a combination of these in different degrees. This meant delving deeply within and evaluating the person to develop an individualized plan. For years the Multi Modal Recovery process was used during treatment which led to viewing treatment in a totally new way, that at times, even startled them. It not only made sense, it worked. With the Natural Pathways of Recovery, they have brought their revolutionary practice to very reader interested in seeing recovery through a different lens.
This book is intended to be thought-provoking and life changing for the world of recovery. Natural Pathways of Recovery offers a fresh and new way to not only look at Substance Use Disorders, but the matter in which they should be treated. By using The Star Matrix System, it is possible for us to see that each person's path to treatment is unique and you can get better
In 2018, Pam came out with the book Show Me the Way. In this book, Moore tackles the toxic thoughts that get stuck in your head and lead to addictive behaviors. She shows how she broke her own chain of fearful and anxious thoughts and how she works every day to consciously consider how these beliefs affect her actions and behaviors.
