Brad Bolon was born in 1961. He spent 13 years completing four degrees (BS, DVM, MS, PhD) and a pathology residency at four institutions (Chemical Industry Institute of Toxicology, Duke University, University of Florida, and University of Missouri). Since being turned loose on the unsuspecting public in the early 1990s, his twin interests in laboratory animal pathology and neuropathology have helped him evolve through many positions: a contract research organization (Pathology Associates Inc.), a pharmaceutical company (Wyeth), a biotechnology firm (Amgen), an academic research center (The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine), and as an independent consultant at GEMpath (for "Genetically Engineered Mouse Pathology"). He maintains his wavering hold on sanity through reading (history and science are popular themes), writing (again with the history and science), and wrangling (his herd of four children).
