When conducting research for The Safest Lie I was able to meet my hero, Irena Sendler. She was a the mastermind spy in charge or rescuing children from the Warsaw ghetto during WWII. It was an honor to meet Irena and to have the opportunity to read testimonies of rescued children recorded at the end of the war. These records are preserved by the Jewish Historical Institute in Warsaw, Poland.

I love writing. In addition to my two books with Holiday House, I write articles, poems and plays.
