Joseph David Cress is an award-winning journalist with almost 22 years of full-time newspaper experience. For the past 13 years, he has worked as a staff reporter with The Sentinel in Carlisle. He has published four books on local history and true crime with The History Press. Titles include "Remembering Carlisle: Tales from the Cumberland Valley," "Murder & Mayhem in Cumberland County" and "Murder & Mayhem in York County." His latest book "Wicked Carlisle: The Dark Side of the Cumberland Valley," came out in early July 2012.
A Lebanon PA native, Joseph David Cress earned a journalism degree from Shippensburg University. Aside from being a journalist and author, Cress is a novice poet and game designer who loves music and World War II history. He lives in Spring Garden Township, York County PA, with his wife Stacey, dogs Patches and Rosco and tomcats Chewie and Boone.
