Ian is the fourth generation of published authors, and the subject of a probably-not-unique curse, having had his first book published (Scratcher), a situation that has not improved! He's written a number of subsequent books (for children and adults), a screenplay, and a musical, as well as many stage sketches and songs. He is still hoping that the curse is not terminal...
His grandfather, Bernard Capes, had 40+ novels and collections of poetry published between 1888 and 1919 (when the influenza pandemic got him).
His uncle, Renalt Capes, had three novels published as well as a screenplay produced.
His titles include Scratcher, Lissie Pendle, The Search for Quong, Ranga Plays Australia, Possum and Python, The Alone Man, Twevven and the big bigger biggest baby burp, Twevven in a very dangerous situation, The Day and Night Machine, The Package on the Tram, The Wisdom of Harkishen Singh, Thomas Bulford's English Companion, Thomas Bulford's Essays on Life, Language, and Love, Beethoven! a musical play, Messing With Your Mind, and Stories from Somewhere.
