Thomas Conway Fishburne

Tom Fishburne was born in Atlanta, Georgia and grew up in Jacksonville, Florida. After graduating from Robert E. Lee Senior High School, Tom briefly attended college, but as he says, "Too much time in the pool hall and too little time in the classroom put a quick end to that endeavor." He then spent a summer working on a survey crew deep in the Okefenokee Swamp in south Georgia. According to Tom, "Too many snakes, too many mosquitoes, and one too many alligators, put an end to that one as well." In 1965, Tom joined the United States Air Force. He served on active duty for three years including one year (1967-68) in The Republic of Vietnam where he received a Bronze Star. When he returned to the United States in 1968, he met his wife to be, the former Dana Gay MacWilliams. They were married in 1969 and remain happily married today. They have two sons. Kevin, a video game designer and Chad an actor/screenwriter. Tom returned to Jacksonville University and was graduated in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science in Management. After his graduation, Tom accepted a position with The American International Group (AIG) where he spent the next 35 years, retiring in 2005 as a Senior Vice President and Southeast Profit Center Manager with AIG United Guaranty Corporation. Tom was a member of the National Speakers Association for over 20 years, giving over 200 presentations on sales training and motivational topics. In retirement, Tom and Dana spend time between their homes in Atlanta and on the coast of North Carolina. Tom travels the country and the world with his family, plays golf two or three times a week, and writes. His first novel, No Hero was published in 2010. Kirkus Reviews called No Hero "...an engaging debut thriller...a thoughtful high-action novel that blends exciting urban drama with moral conflict." Tom's second novel, Four winds, was published in April, 2014.
