Elia is an award-winning filmmaker and photographer, as well as a writer and the author of dark-humor cartoon books Evil Penguins: When Cute Penguins Go Bad and Evil Cats: When Fluffy Cats Get Mean. When she's not observing birds at her bird bath, she writes about the wonders of the natural world and its fascinating creatures. She's also a nonfiction editor for an environmental literary magazine.
